If you have an acute injury with pain, swelling, and/or discomfort with movement, our physiotherapists may apply a special tape to the affected area to support your joints and encourage healing of the injured tissues. Tape can also be applied to provide tactile feedback while you are learning to improve your postural control.
At Balance Core, we use dynamic sports taping techniques (e.g. Kinesiotaping) to provide support and protection while maintaining freedom of movement to facilitate your return to daily activities and sports. We also use rigid taping that minimises joint movements resting the joint and soft tissue in the area is required.
Common conditions that can benefit from taping techniques include:
Ankle sprain
Plantarfasciitis
Shoulder Pain (e.g. Rotator Cuff Tear or Tendinopathy)
Knee Pain
Joint Sprains
Whiplash Injury
Back Sprains
